ABOUT US

Incorporated in August 2009, Carter & Denham opened its doors to provide attorney services for a variety of legal issues, such as probate, family, real estate, personal injury and criminal law. In 2013, Carter & Denham emerged out of Abreo Law Office. Carter & Denham Attorneys at Law offer personal service and are readily accessible to clients. The attorneys serve clients in Bastrop County, Lee County, Fayette County, Burleson County, Travis County, Caldwell County, Williamson County and others counties as needed. OUR STAFF

Amanda L. Carter
Attorney At Law

Amanda Lee Belz Carter graduated from Elgin High School in 2003 and attended the University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with honors with a B.A. in Government in 2006. She attended Texas Tech University School of Law and graduated in 2010 and joined Carter & Denham’s predecessor, Abreo Law Office, P.C., that same year. 

 

In 2013, Amanda became a partner, and the office was renamed to Abreo & Carter, attorneys at law. In 2020, she became a managing shareholder in Abreo & Carter and is a founding member of its successor firm, Carter & Denham, PLLC.

 

In 2016, Amanda was appointed the position of Elgin Municipal Judge and continues to serve as the Elgin Municipal Court’s presiding judge and magistrate. That same year, Amanda was selected to be a member of the Texas Bar Foundation and in 2018, she was appointed to the District 8 Grievance Committee and assists with hearings regarding disciplinary action for other District 8 attorneys in her areas of practice.

W. Christopher Denham
Attorney At Law

William Christopher “Chris” Denham graduated from Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz, graduated in 2003 from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) where he graduated magna cum laude with a dual major of History and Political Science, and graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law, cum laude, in 2007.

​

In 2020, he became a partner in Abreo & Carter and is a founding member of Carter & Denham, PLLC.  He is also a trained mediator and has mediated over a hundred cases including divorce, child custody, probate disputes, real property disputes, and personal injury matters.

​

In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his family, and is an avid historian and collector of military relics.

Lizania Berlanga
Paralegal

Lizania (Liz) Berlanga was born in Anahuac, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. At the age of two, she moved to Elgin, Texas where she has resided ever since.

 

Upon graduation from Elgin High
School in 2012, she enrolled in Austin Community College and attended the University of Texas where she graduated with a Paralegal Certificate in December 2016. In 2019, Liz also completed the Legal Interpreter Certificate Program at UT Austin.

 

Liz was with Abreo & Carter since November 2014 and was instrumental in the founding and organization of Carter &  Denham, PLLC. Prior to working the legal field, she worked in the restaurant industry in and around Elgin.

 

Liz married Ivan Gonzalez of Elgin, Texas in January 2020. Ivan is a graduate of Elgin High School and the owner of CAIR Heating and Air Conditioning in Elgin.

Gracy Gonzalez
Legal Assistant

Maria Graciela (Gracy) Gonzalez was born in Austin, Tx. and raised in Elgin, Tx. She is a graduate of Elgin High School Class of 2002. After graduation, Gracy enrolled in Austin Community College and received a bookkeeping certification. 

 

In 2020, she obtained a degree in Hospitality Management. Gracy currently attends the University of Texas in El Paso and is scheduled to graduate in May of 2022 with a degree in Multidisciplinary Studies. 

 

Gracy has been with Carter & Denham, PLLC since August 2021. Prior to working the legal field, she worked in the financial and restaurant industry.

 

Gracy has a daughter named Anahi Gonzalez, with whom she enjoys family activities.
